The Food Film Festival returns to Camporeale: two evenings at the Anfiteatro Paradiso

Cinema, food, agriculture. The Food Film Festival is back at the Anfiteatro Paradiso in Camporeale on 17 and 18 July 2026.
Locandina Food Film Festival 2026

There are encounters born from real affinities, and what awaits us this coming weekend is one of them. The Food Film Festival returns to Camporeale, and returns to Valdibella — because what it tells through film is the same thing we try to communicate in everything we do.

Cinema. Food. Agricultural words. Three words that capture the spirit of this event, which we are proud to host once again.

The festival

The Milan Food Film Festival is dedicated to food, environmental and social sustainability. Every year, through films, documentaries and public talks, it brings to the screen the stories behind the food that reaches our tables: supply chains, conflicts, choices, the people who produce it.

In summer the festival leaves Milan and comes to Sicily. And in Sicily it comes here — to the Anfiteatro Paradiso in Camporeale, set in the rural landscape, among the vineyards.
It’s the right place, and we welcome you with open arms.

Programme

Friday 17 July

8.00 pm — Apericena!
Curated by Valdibella

9.00 pm — “La convergenza è necessaria anche a tavola”
Jacobin Italia — summer 2026
With Martina Lo Cascio, Eleonora Chiri and Giorgia Dal Fabbro. A conversation on food, politics and food systems — the kind of dialogue that doesn’t happen often, and that happens even less in a place like this.

9.30 pm — HOW TO FEED THE PLANET
Directed by Francesco De Augustinis — ITA 2026 | 73′
“How to feed the planet” without destroying it? A global investigation into the contemporary food system. Between conflicts, industrial agriculture and economic power, the film reveals what lies behind the food we eat every day.
In collaboration with Legambiente.

Saturday 18 July

7.30 pm — Public talk: “Projects of welcome and integration”
With Mimmo Lucano (Mayor of Riace and MEP, AlleanzaVerdiSinistra) and Massimiliano Solano (Cooperativa Valdibella).
An open meeting to discuss community, welcome, and the link between agriculture and rights.

8.00 pm — Apericena!
Curated by Valdibella

9.00 pm — UN PAESE DI RESISTENZA
Directed by Shu Aiello and Catherine Catella — ITA 2024 | 97′
After twenty years of harmony, the arrest of Mayor Domenico Lucano forces Riace — a small Calabrian village that became a symbol of welcome — to face a painful dilemma: resist or disappear? A portrait of an unprecedented event in Italian political-judicial history. The second chapter written by the directors after Un paese di Calabria.
